The first work in Contact, an ongoing collection exploring the wheel - the point where a vehicle meets the road.
Inspired by the distinctive wheel of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, Velocity, 1955 brings its spokes, knock offs, and mechanical detail into an extreme close up. The design is machine etched into aluminum, then shaped by hand to create depth that shifts as the light moves across it.
